Weather guidelines
Weather guidelines
We believe that children need to be outside! Some of the best learning happens on the playground. In the 3/4 and 4/5 classrooms, children go to the park as long as it is not raining and the “Feels Like” temperature is above 18°.
Nuts/Allergies
Nuts/Allergies
Unity Preschool does not serve or allow nuts at our school. We provide healthy snacks that are usually, but not always, comprised of fresh fruit and a grain. If your child has an allergy, please let us know and we can accommodate them. For Lunch Bunch, we ask that children bring in lunches without tree nuts or peanuts.
Teacher Appreciation Fund
Teacher Appreciation Fund
Unity’s Community Council collects contributions for a Teacher Appreciation Fund throughout the school year. Each December, all teachers will receive an end of the calendar year bonus from money donated to the Fund. During Teacher Appreciation Week in May, the fund will be used to provide small tokens of appreciation for the Unity teachers. At the end of the year, all remaining funds will be distributed among the staff. Participation is voluntary and all contributions are anonymous.
